EXXADON RECEIVES U. OF T. REPORT ON MODEL M100 EFFICIENCY
January 16, 1996
Exxadon is pleased to announce that Exxadon/EWMC has received the results of the new sterilization tests conducted by the University of Toronto. The tests were conducted by the Faculty of Medicine/Department of Microbiology on the new production version of the Exxadon/EWMC Model M100 Medical Waste Processor at Exxadon's head office in Ajax, Ontario. According to results, the Exxadon/EWMC patented Medical Waste Processor completely inactivates all viable spores within a standard 50 minute cycle. The results confirmed the findings of a previous report written by the University of Toronto in March of 1994 on the original Medical Waste Processor prototype.

The tests were conducted in December 1995 and involved placing test cultures of Bacillus stearothermophilus spores at various locations within the Processor's Microwave Chamber. Some cultures were left uncovered, partially covered or completely covered by other waste within the chamber. After running the Processor, the test cultures were collected and taken to the University labs for incubation and observation, after which all spores, whether on filter strips or in syringes, and regardless of location within the chamber, were totally inactivated by the patented microwave process.

The test project was overseen by Dr. Patricia L. Seyfried, Ph.D., a professor at the University of Toronto, Department of Microbiology. Dr. Seyfried, aside from being a tenured Professor of Microbiology at the University, has worked on various research projects, including working from 1990 to 1993 with the Hospital Council of Metropolitan Toronto and the Ministry of the Environment on microbiological evaluation of the infectious waste disposal systems.

The patented EWMC Microwave Medical Waste Reduction Processor fully sterilizes and carbonizes all types of medical waste without producing any toxic emissions. The processor can be operated right on site within the hospital, eliminating the need to sort or transport this otherwise hazardous waste. The end products can then be disposed of in a safe and economical manner at any friendly landfill site without the fear of future environmental damage.

Exxadon Technology Corporation is an environmental waste management company, which through its wholly owned subsidiary, EWMC, has the exclusive rights to exploit and market a patented Microwave Reduction process as it applies to several applications throughout various parts of the world.
