John C. Fox Joins EWMC International Inc. Board

EWMC International Inc. (“EWMC”) announced today that John C. Fox has joined the Board of Directors, replacing Garry Carruthers who recently stepped down. Mr. Fox has been appointed Managing Director of Perseus LLC, a merchant bank and private equity fund management company located in Washington DC and New York City. Perseus LLC invests in transactions ranging from venture capital financing to leveraged buy-outs.

Prior to joining Perseus LLC, Mr. Fox served as Chief Operating Officer of Ontario Power Generation (formally Ontario Hydro) where he was responsible for the overall operations of the company’s 69 hydroelectric and 6 fossil electricity generation stations. He also served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Ontario Hydro’s Generation Company from 1997 to 1999, and held various senior management positions with the company since 1993. Between 1981 and 1992, Mr. Fox held various management positions with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) in San Francisco, California.

On loan from PG&E between June and December 1992, Mr. Fox was a member of President Bush’s Commission on Environmental Quality in Washington, D.C., where he headed the Commission’s Energy Efficiency Task Force. Mr. Fox served as Chairman of both the International Institute for Energy Conservation and E-Source. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for numerous organizations including Rocky Mountain Institute, the Alliance to Save Energy, and the Energy Council of Canada. He also served as a Director and Treasurer for the Energy Foundation, and was a member of the Ontario Roundtable on the Environment and Economy.

Mr. Fox brings to the Board a wealth of management and environment experience and knowledge.

EWMC also confirmed completion of a private placement of 300,000 shares at $0.60 to an arm’s length buyer. This placement does not affect control of the Corporation. The funds generated will be used for working capital purposes. A total of 42,128,635 common shares in the capital of the Corporation are outstanding after the private placement.
