EWMC SHIPS CARBON BLACK TO CONTINENTAL GENERAL TIRE, INC.
October 29, 1997
Thomas Fairfull, President of E.W.M.C. International Inc. (EWMC) announced the first shipment of 2,000 pounds of carbon black generated through the EWMC pilot facility in Ajax, Ontario to CG TIRE Inc. of Charlotte, North Carolina. The carbon black has been produced using the patented EWMC reverse polymerization microwave process reducing passenger car tires to their base components consisting of steel, diesel oil and carbon black. CG TIRE Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Continental General Tire Inc., the fourth largest tire producer, world-wide. As announced in the Press Release dated August 21, 1997, EWMC has granted to CG TIRE an option to purchase up to 3,000,000 of its common shares, dependent upon certain performance requirements of CG TIRE.

Mr. Fairfull advised that the bulk sample had been provided in order to allow CG TIRE engineers and technicians to asses the carbon black produced through the EWMC tire reduction system as a component for the manufacture of new tires. The carbon black will be initially tested in new tires scheduled for fleet testing by Continental. He indicated that the EWMC pilot plant was continuing to produce carbon black for a further bulk sample for testing by CG TIRE.

Mr. Fairfull also advised that significant interest continues to be generated in the EWMC reverse polymerization microwave medical waste reduction system and stated that he hopes to receive formal accreditation in a number of U.S. states for use of that system, in the near future.
