| November 2, 1998 |
| E.W.M.C. International
Inc. (“EWMC”) is pleased to announce that it has increased both the geographical
scope and the number of applications for which it now has the rights to
exploit the patented Emery Reverse Polymerization Process (“the Emery Process”).
EWMC had previously held the rights to exploit the Emery Process in North
and South America, Europe, the United Kingdom and the former USSR. This
transaction with Emery International Inc. (“Emery”) results in EWMC now
holding the right for worldwide exploitation of the Emery Process as it
applies to rubber reduction (including tires), medical waste, plastic, soil
remediation, solid municipal waste, PCB’s, auto shredder residue (auto fluff),
coal and secure media disposal. In consideration for the acquisition of
the rights to these applications on a worldwide basis, EWMC has issued 6,000,000
common shares to Emery. Thomas Fairfull, EWMC’s President, pointed out that in previous transaction the company had purchased only the North America rights to auto shredder residue (auto fluff) in 1994 for 1,000,000 shares. Between September 1995 and May 1996, EWMC had expanded the geographic rights for medical waste and rubber tires to include South America in return for 1,756,000 shares as well as an option on 300,000 additional shares. He pointed out that these previous transactions had been struck when shares of EWMC had been trading at much higher prices and that the current transaction involved significantly lower dollar value, while providing significant additional rights. Mr. Fairfull advised that he believed the opportunity to strike a deal with Emery was a tremendous opportunity which EWMC could not afford to pass up. He commented that “this transaction clears the way for EWMC to finally represent a worldwide answer to some of the worst environmental problems facing society today”. E.W.M.C. International Inc. is a publicly traded company that focuses on technology to treat and effectively deal with environmental problems. At present, the Company has developed Systems utilizing the patented Reverse Polymerization technology first developed by Dr. Charles Emery to treat medical waste and reduce rubber tires. Trading in EWMC shares are reported on the Canadian Dealer Network (the “CDN”) under the symbol “EWMI”. Visit the E.W.M.C. International Inc. home page on the Internet at www.ewmc.com.
